Aloha and thank you for downloading the Shaka Guide app. Please watch the video below to help you navigate the app and understand it’s basic functions.
1. Intro video screens
Upon opening the app for the first time you’ll see a screen with a prompt to continue with the speakers on or off. If you’d like to listen to the music on the intro video, we recommend continuing with the speakers on. If you’re not interested in watching the intro video, you can just skip past it by tapping on the ‘X’ in the top right hand corner.
2. Signing up for a Shaka Guide account
On this screen you can sign up for an account with Shaka Guide using one of the various sign-up methods. You have the option to sign up through Facebook, Google +, or to create an account manually.
With a Shaka Guide account you’ll receive emails to help you prepare for your tours with information such as packing lists, travel tips, operating hours, and other need-to-know facts.
3. Enable notifications & GPS
Here you can allow notifications to stay updated on road closures, weather, and all that fun stuff. Now on this next screen, it’s important for you to allow Shaka Guide to access your GPS location. Your GPS location must be enabled in order for our app to function properly. Without it, you won’t be able to hear the location-specific stories and directions that makes our app so special.
So that’s how you set up the Shaka Guide app. Our next tutorial goes over how to purchase an actual tour. Click here to learn more.
